The Presidential Candidates & Education

by Dr. Rick

Recently the Washington Post ran this article about the presidential nominees opening the debate on education. I am glad to see both presidential nominees finally addressing the education crisis in our country. As a former teacher and administrator, I am looking for a candidate who recognizes and applauds success in schools and who works to enhance the status of teaching so that the best and brightest choose the profession. If more people found teaching fulfilling enough to remain in the position for even five years or more, we could make a small step toward achieving those greater goals in our education system.
